Sarah Ijangolet

Digital Illustrator
Sarah Ijangolet is a Ugandan digital illustrator who uses art as a tool to challenge harmful narratives and stereotypes about the role of Ugandan women in the precolonial times. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Fine Art from Uganda Christian University, Mukono.

While exploring Ugandan folklore and mythology to allow audiences to trance in the world of Ugandan fantasy, deities and mystical beings, Ijangolet’s work aspires to preserve folktales for future generations.

These tales could be used as ties that bind us as a society; playing a key role in the preservation of our culture and identity - she says.
